High Winds Create Local Problem With Air Quality

Mr. Mayor,

This it what the residents of West Heritage Lakes have to live with. I have several times sent in photos and asked for dust suppression at the two construction sites, South Riel and the football field area.

There are human beings living downwind of this mess! You are supposed to suppress dust.  That is required. The dust pretty well spreads all over the Grandin area too.  Sorry the photos are not very good, but it was getting dark.

Yes, it is windy, but why could the crews not have wetted down the South Riel site before they quit for the day? It is bad enough every day when they are at work, and not any better after they leave.

People with asthma, anybody really, should not have to be exposed to this health hazard. The fine dust particles creep in everywhere.

Have you ever been there and watched this, and what are you going to do about it?  We need immediate action.

It has been going for at least two months, and there is no end in sight until the snow covers it all.

There is all this talk about air quality and our feedback is requested.   I think CASA will get it.

SINC SAYS:

The wind was unreal yesterday and it was such a large wind system it stretched from here to Regina as evidenced during the football game last night in Regina.

The Henday construction has dust blowing everywhere the past few days too and contractors should be forced to wet down that mess they have created. And to think, this will go on until it opens and isn’t that 2011?
