that!JILTED plant hire boss Martyn Wright took revenge on a love rival – by destroying his car with a 13-ton digger.
Wright, 30, turned Anthony Simpson’s Toyota Land Cruiser into a heap of metal.
He went berserk after discovering risque text messages from childhood friend Simpson, 22, on his partner Linda’s mobile.
Yesterday he was given a conditional discharge after admitting criminal damage, but said: “I’ve no regrets about it – he deserved it.”
District Judge Liz Harte told him at Chesterfield Magistrates Court, Derbys: “I have listened carefully to the circumstances in which this offence was committed.”
Wright, of Hartington – who is now back with Linda – said: “I’ve known Simpson for 15 years. This is something you just don’t do to your mates.”
