Zumba® enthusiasts from all Edmonton and area Party in PINK™ to end breast cancer with  Zumba® Fitness

MIDNIGHT MAGIC LINGERIE, The ENJOY CENTRE, and various local Zumba® Fitness instructors host Zumba® - Groovin’ for the Cure 2012 an Official Zumbathon™ to raise donations for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, CIBC Run For The Cure.

Edmonton/St. Albert/Sherwood Park – Hundreds of Edmonton and area enthusiasts will shake, shimmy and showcase their hottest moves at Zumba® - Groovin’ for the Cure 2012, a 90-minute Zumbathon™ designed to raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, CIBC Run for the Cure. This year's event is presented by MIDNIGHT MAGIC LINGERIE (St. Albert) and once again hosted at the ENJOY CENTRE (St. Albert). Numerous other sponsors are on board to help make this event a huge success!
Zumba® Fitness, one of today’s hottest dance-fitness workouts, fuses traditional aerobic movements with Latin-inspired dance moves set to international music. From salsa to reggaeton, bollywood to calypso, Zumba® Fitness motivates an array of individuals, young and old alike.
In its THIRD year, the Zumba® - Groovin’ for the Cure 2012 Official Zumbathon™ invites anyone who wants to dance, get fit, to raise money for an important cause, and to ‘shake their booties to save boobies.’ No dance or fitness experience is necessary.
While many instructors from Edmonton and surrounding areas are needed to help pull together the event, Lorena Baretta takes on the role of Event Coordinator again this year in support of all friends and family who have battled breast cancer. Dozens of local licensedZumba® Fitness instructors have jumped on board to help support this event bringing participants from all over the greater Edmonton area.
“I know far too many people who have been affected by breast cancer and, quite frankly, I’m tired of it,” said Lorena. “Zumba® Fitness instructors are coming together to take this dynamic workout and use it to encourage a healthy, active lifestyle. This is one way we can put on our battle shoes and help fight breast cancer together.”
Lorena is also captain of “Chest Nutz,” a team that joined tens of thousands of Canadians to participate in the annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure on September 30, 2012. The funds raised from Zumba® - Groovin’ for the Cure will be added to support the team’s efforts.
In 2011, Zumba® - Groovin’ for the Cure saw over 390 people, raising $11,280. The team hopes to raise even more money and more awareness this year by hosting the event at the spacious Enjoy Centre once again and encouraging increased participation through connections with the hundreds of local licensed Zumba® Fitness instructors and several generous sponsors.
Participants can look forward to infectious music, intense fun, incredible door prizes/raffles and fun extras like a photo booth, vendor samples, Party in PINK™ clothing sales, t-shirt customizing, live DJ, entertainment, and perhaps even some surprise guests.
Advance tickets are $25 and tickets at the door are $30.
Participants are encouraged to wear workout clothes and runners, and of course to show their personal flair by wearing PINK or Zumba® wear.
