St. Paul's Jamie Sadlowski Long Drive Champ

St. Paul native Sadlowski says it's beef, not the water, that makes Alberta golfers big hitters

Another Alberta golfer has laid claim to the title of World Long Drive Champion.

St. Paul's Jamie Sadlowski won the title this past weekend at the Re/Max World Long Drive contest in Mesquite, Nev. One of the golfers he beat was Calgary's five-time world champion Jason Zuback.

"They were kidding us that it must be the water but I think it's the Alberta beef," said Sadlowski.

Only five-foot-11 and 165 pounds, Sadlowski broke the Re/Max finals record with a blast of 418 yards. The previous record of 412 yards belonged to Zuback.

The win was worth $250,000.
