St. Albert’s Nick Holden Still In Awe Of NHL Experience

Nick Holden is still pinching himself after playing in his first National Hockey League (NHL) game.
“It was unreal,” said Holden. “It’s kind of a dream come true. Growing up you always wanted to play in the NHL and it was just preseason, but still it was in the NHL and I got that chance.”
The St. Albertan had 22 shifts in more than 19 minutes of action in the Columbus Blue Jackets’ 3-1 loss to the Nashville Predators on Sept. 27.
Holden was assigned to the Blue Jackets’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the next day, but he says the game helped him discover what he needs to do to get to the NHL full-time.
